This year’s edition of Comicpalooza is taking place on Memorial Day weekend, from May 24th-26th, 2024. More than 50,000 people travel from around the world to pack the George R. Brown Convention Center in celebration of comics, anime, gaming and cosplay.

The hotels closest to the action (Hilton Americas-Houston, Marriott Marquis-Downtown and Hampton Downtown) tend to fill up quickly. Parking can run as high as $50 per night at hotels near the GRB.

While you won’t be able to order a soggy burger from room service or get free breakfast, Home Slice Pizza is right next door and has a takeaway window serving up the city’s best pizza. You’ll be able to order a great breakfast downstairs at The Brass Tap. For an authentic Houston experience, order the traditional or viet-cajun crawfish at Winnie’s.
You’ll find several places to eat or drink downstairs and next door, but you can walk to dozens more. Midtown’s affordable restaurants beat any special offers or discounts you’ll find downtown.
You can skip waiting in line for the hotel staff at the front desk to help you check in (during the busiest events of the year for Houston hotels).
